Sammy Davis Jr 1Multiple ExposureDuring his childhood as a vaudeville entertainer, he was often billed as "Silent Sammy, the Dancing Midget", to get around child labor laws and conspiciously walked around backstage with a rubber cigar in his mouth and a woman on each arm. Always articulate, he never attended school of any kind; performing since the age of five, he was largely self-taught. He became part of the infamous "Rat Pack" with Sinatra, Dean Martin, Peter Lawford and Joey Bishop who all appeared in the film "Oceans 11" filmed in Las Vegas.
