He was called "The Brilliant New Tenor From Italy" in 1962 when Sergio Franchi, practically unknown when he first came to the US. He became an overnight sensation and sang in many great clubs like the Coconut Grove in Los Angeles before appearing on numerous TV shows like The Ed Sullivan Show.
