"i took it for granted...." by: Dan McPhail |

I'm a 68 year young radio personality live mobile dj from southeast Michigan. I lived in Las Vegas twice (1968 while at Nellis AFB) and from '72 to '74 when i worked for KENO am Radio and KLAS TV 8. As a young man i didn't fully appreciate what Las Vegas was in the 60's and 70's. It combined small town friendly and huge city sophistication. I met some of the most memorable people ever (like Steve Wynn in '73) and Waylon Jennings (at the Golden Nugget in the summer of '68). This is a GREAT website. Seeing a performer live is very different from tv, and seeing them up close as many venues in Las Vegas once had, is better still. May those entertainers like Dean Martin, Bobby Darrin, Waylon, Jimmy Dean and Elvis rest in peace. They made a lot of people happy and i wish they could know how much they were appreciated. Sincerely, Dan McPhail, Burton MI
