KJ Gets A Lift

K.J. Howe, Mint Hotel executive and longtime Mint 400 Race Director, conceived "The Girls of the Mint 400" in 1972 and was always on set to make sure they were properly in "their colors". Each year the Mint racing committee chose five women to reign over the races many events and for several years RSH photographed the girls for publicity.
"It was a photo session I looked forward to in the spring. Not only were the girls great, some local and others coming from out of state, but we always had a lot fun. KJ was easy to work for and you can see how much the girls loved him!" RSH

You were so gracious to your brother Joey and I when we came to Las Vegas. The Mint 400 experience was a memorable moment I my life. I'll never forget when Joey, Sandy, Brian, and I mooned you ( the king of mooning ) at the Starboard Tach. Oh yea, the race was pretty cool too.
