There were several years when the magazine sent their contributing photographers copies of issues from every country so they could see how their work appeared there. That was 10 different issues each month, at the time.

Most of these magazines have been looked at twice, once when we got them and now to put them up on the website. Spent no time reading them, most are not in English. I did look at the photos and many of them were more interesting than the US editions. Each country could produce their own pictorial or use Playboys American photographers stuff. Most of them used the US Playmates in those days, but they often produced some pretty wild pictorials on their own. I always liked seeing my pictorials in foreign editions because they did different layouts and used other photos.

The other interesting thing about these old foreign editions is that some of the countries had censorship and couldn not show pubic hair. In fact, in a centerfold shoot, the last thing we did was take the same photo of the girl with her pubes covered for the Japanese. I think it was Japan, Mexico and maybe Turkey who had the ban. RSH
