IN THE NEWS November 24, 1972   -PHYLLIS DILLER used to do beauty parlor routines at the laundromat in Alameda, never thinking she could get paid for her schtick. Now she accompanies Bob Hope to entertain the troupes and stars in Las Vegas at the Desert Inn with Gordon MacRae. Shecky Greene and Vic Damone appear at the Riviera and there are auditions for the "Minsky's" show at the Fremont downtown. IN THE NEWS July 8, 1977  - GOULET is a fixture in Las Vegas, appearing at the Frontier Hotel's Music Hall. Hilton has Bill Cosby with songs star Cleo Laine and the Hacienda has the third edition of "Spice on Ice". The spicy show features puppeteer Barclay Shaw and comic Pepper Davis.
