IN THE NEWS Sept 15,1978  Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme debut at the Frontier Hotel's Music Hall showroom and Bob Newhart and Bernadette Peters share the stage at the Riviera. Of course, the spectacular show the "Folies Bergere '78" still wow's audiences at the Tropicana with it's 100 plus cast of singers, dancers and showgirls.

Cover Girl Caption  FONDREN THE FONDEST - One of the most appealing sights gazed upon this week by the retail beverage dealers of California was radiant Debra Jo Fondren, Playboy Magazine's "Playmate Of The Year", who hosted their convention at the MGM Grand Hotel. Debra Jo, whose shimmering golden blond hair is more than 50 inches long, was discovered by the Vegas Visitor's own Robert Scott Hooper. His photos of her have graced the cover and centerfold of Playboy (as well as the front page of Vegas Visitor).
