IN THE NEWS January 25, 1970  - DRIVE DIRECT TO LAS VEGAS proclaims the headline, as the dedication of the Downtown Expressway begins this week. Downtown Expressway Days on Thursday, Friday and Saturday is part of the advertising program meant to let locals and Southern Californians know that they can now drive direct from downtown Los Angeles to downtown Las Vegas without any traffic signals the entire route. In other news, the T-Bird's "Latin Fire Follies '71" invites you to see the "finest examples of Latin pulchritude on stage in the world today" (whew!). Oh, and the girl on Roger Williams piano is none other than Joyce Grayson, who usually decorates the stage in the Folies Bergere.

She was very a notable star at the time and somewhat intimidating to a new inexperienced kid. I was only given a few minutes with her at the Desert Inn Hotel where she was appearing. She was a real PRO, very cooperative and took direction easily. We were both happy with the results and she taught me a lot." RSH
