IN THE NEWS August 25, 1972  - BIG TOM blast the headlines about Tom Jones ending his greatest ever US tour at the Circus Maximus showroom at Caesars Palace, while ribald, racy Rusty Warren appears across the street at the Flamingo Hotel. Siegfried & Roy lounge at a desert oasis with a couple of their tigers during the sweltering days and perform their magic in the famed Lido de Paris show at the Stardust at night.

Vegas Visitor Caption  MISS DESERT INN - Trenna Gulbransen gets ready for the Sammy Davis Jr. Celebrity-Am Golf Classic, sponsored by the National Highway Safety Foundation, which will be held this week-end at the Desert Inn and Sands Hotels on August 24-27. The tournament will be played at the DI Golf course. Other activities have been planned at the Sands Hotel where the "Candy Man" appears during his Las Vegas engagements. Some of the superstars attending the even are: Peter Falk, Sugar Ray Robinson, Raymond St. Jacques, Ed McMahon and Don Cherry, to name a few.
