IN THE NEWS October 4, 1968   - T-BIRD OPENS $75,000 GALA, where the winner gets a brand new 1969 Renault??? Why not a Thunderbird? Oh well, the real news is about the world's largest resort hotel being developed by Kirk Kerkorian, the International. The concrete support towers are rising skyward at the rate of 15 inches an hour around the clock and they are now half way to the top of the 365 foot structure. The new hotel is being built right next to the Las Vegas Convention Center and is scheduled to open mid-summer 1969.
