IN THE NEWS June 16, 1972  - DIANA ROSS HOT, ICE FOLLIES NOT is a perfect description of just two of the many choices in entertainment Las Vegas has to offer. Diana Ross is making her premiere appearance at Caesars Palace, starting a tradition in big star entertainment that continues at the hotel for many years. Meanwhile, Shipstads & Johnson Ice Follies unveiled its 1973 world premiere at Caesars in April, marking the first time a major ice show was presented on a nightclub stage anywhere in the world. Just to keep the party going, the Union Plaza hotel is celebrating its first birthday with 82 days of partying specials and prizes.

Cover Girl Caption  VISITOR READERS PICK ANOTHER WINNER - Several weeks ago the Vegas Visitor displayed a cover of the Tropicana's entry in the "Ms. International Sportswrold Pageant", lovely Rudas dancer, Ms. Carol Arango...(then Ms. Acrobatics). Never has the editor received more comments from the readership. This week, 20 year old Carol, 34-21-34, was crowned "Miss International Sportsworld", the queen of all sports queens, and her eminence graces our cover again.
